Air-side finned cooler bundles
Dust and oily deposits between accessible fins.
Check fin condition, safe access and compatible cleaning parameters.
HomeIndustry applicationsProcess plant & energy
Process-plant cleaning starts with a defined maintenance surface and an agreed outage plan. Air-side fouling, oily external deposits and selected component cleaning each need a separate scope.
The maintenance objective
Dry ice may suit accessible air-side deposits on fin-fan coolers. Removing accessible air-side deposits is different from internal tube descaling, pressure-vessel cleaning or proving restored thermal performance.
Discuss the component, site requirements and maintenance window with M&S. Suitability, availability and any specialist involvement are confirmed before work is agreed.

Assets & deposits
Dust and oily deposits between accessible fins.
Check fin condition, safe access and compatible cleaning parameters.
Accessible build-up within the agreed maintenance boundary.
Confirm isolation, guarding and protection of adjacent equipment.
Suitable grease and process residue before inspection.
Identify the contaminant and containment/disposal requirements.
Selected motor or generator cleaning during maintenance.
Use a specialist scope and relevant electrical personnel.
Planning & controls
Hazardous-area work depends on client requirements, equipment suitability, permits and approved site controls. Dry ice does not make every work method acceptable in a refinery or process area.
Confirm isolation, ventilation, access and the turnaround window before agreeing the work. There is no general offer to clean live or operating plant.
