HomeMachinery and equipment

Build-up on
your machinery?

From excavator pump rooms and bakery conveyors to moulds and generators, the part, deposit and required finish determine the cleaning approach.

Cavities, passages and service surfaces

The surface matters.
So do the details.

Mould cavities and vents, conveyor guides, cooling fins and accessible pump housings each present a different cleaning task. Select the details to consider.

What needs to stay intact?

A mould’s fine vents, a generator’s insulation and a cooler’s thin fins need different treatment. Identify the substrate, coatings, seals and delicate parts; a test area may be needed.

Useful detail: material, coating and any sensitive parts.

What needs removing?

Describe the oil film in a pump room, crumbs around conveyor guides, resin on a mould or air-side fouling on a cooler. Thickness, adhesion and any hazardous content affect the method and recovery.

Useful detail: what it is, where it is and how much there is.

How will the work be reached?

Tell us about the machine layout, safe isolation, nearby equipment and the maintenance time available. Ventilation and how loosened material will be contained also affect the scope.

Useful detail: access restrictions and your maintenance window.

Planning the clean

Fit the work
around the equipment.

Access, safe isolation and the available maintenance window all affect the job. So do ventilation, nearby machinery and the type of residue being removed.

Different surfaces call for different cleaning settings and sometimes a different method. Mould vents, alternator windings and cooler fins each need an equipment-specific approach.

  • Can the areas to be cleaned be reached safely?
  • How will the equipment be isolated?
  • Which parts need protection or a test area?
  • Where will loosened residue be contained and collected?
  • When will the equipment be available?

Making an enquiry

Three useful details
to start with.

01

The equipment

Machine type, approximate size, how many items and the areas that need cleaning.

A wide photo can help explain the layout.
02

The build-up

Grease, oil, adhesive, carbon or production residue. Mention any known hazardous material.

If you don’t know what it is, tell us.
03

The timing

Your location, preferred date and whether the job needs to fit a maintenance or shutdown window.

Include any access restrictions you know about.
